WEAKNESSES: CHIKA: In combat, her weakness is Darkness and cold attacks in general. She has a psychological weakness, but not a physical one, to the entire Maya class of Shadows, and can't fight them. She also freaks out and runs if someone gets too existential, pondering about life and death. She's rather naive, as well, and believes anyone she thinks is nice. Also, refuses to go near Naganaki Shrine.
CHIKO: In combat she's weak to Light and Wind. She doesn't get along with people well, as she tends to talk without thinking. She's also incredibly overprotective of her 'sister', so if someone insults her, she'll leap in to defend her sister's honor without thinking. She doesn't really do much thinking, and just relies entirely on intuition. She also absolutely refuses to go near Naganaki Shrine.
STRENGTHS: CHIKA: In combat, immune to Light. She's fairly smart, and reads a lot. She does a lot of household stuff well, such as cooking. She actually possesses a good amount of common sense, too, which in a world full of people who shoot themselves in the head, is a rarity.
CHIKO: Strong against physical attacks. Has a remarkably good intuition, far better than Chika's. Is not tricked easily, though this could be from the whole 'no thinking' thing. Not afraid to fight dirty.

PERSONALITY: CHIKA: Chika is almost the archetypal shy, quiet librarian girl. She doesn't talk much, is rather introverted, and has trouble talking to people. However, once she considers someone a close friend and gets over that shyness around them, she's rather free and talks a lot to them. People can generally measure how well she likes someone by how much she talks around them. She enjoys reading novels and shoujo manga. She's also fiercely loyal to her friends, to the point it overrides self-preservation sometimes. She tends to hide the fact that she has DID, and shuts herself off from people because of it, thinking people won't like her if she's crazy.
CHIKO: Chiko is a more aggressive, hyperactive, and generally happier than Chika. She doesn't think before she acts, and generally... doesn't think at all, actually. She enjoys talking to other people, playing outside, and such. She tends to butt heads with people, and isn't afraid to punch someone who deserves it. She tends to get physical with people she likes, hugging or wrestling them... A very kinetic person. She doesn't like reading, and generally lets Chika do their classwork. All Chiko usually reads is shounen manga. She also tends to value her well-being over others, so if it comes to it, she'll use others to save herself. Her rationalization is that she has another person in her to worry about. She doesn't bother to hide the DID, thinking it's okay.
BACKGROUND: Chika and Chiko were born in Iwatodai, uncannily identical even for identical twins. They did almost everything together. They were really rather inseperable. Unfortunately, as Castor and Pollux shows, that never ends well.
When they were both 14, they gained a resistance to the Dark Hour, together. They fled to Naganaki Shrine, hoping they would be safe there. However, Shadows appeared there. Due to the extreme terror both felt, something snapped, and both summoned their Personas (without an Evoker, by power of plot, or else the whole scenario sort of goes crumbling down). The two defended themselves, for a while, but soon were exhausted. Soon, both had collapsed from exhaustion. In that moment of vulnerability, the Shadows leapt, and one of the sisters died, ripped to shreds by the Shadows. As they began to turn on the second, the Dark Hour ended.
The second sister could not cope without her sister. Her mind fractured, and a second personality emerged. Both sisters believed the second personality to be the dead sister. This was further proven by the fact that each personality had that sibling's Persona.
They lived in constant fear of the Dark Hour for a while. They took up weapon training to defend themself. She finally made it to Gekkoukan high school, and has hid during the Dark Hour. They have become aware of others able to move in the Dark Hour, but are afraid to join either cause, until Ikutsuki finds out about her, and extends an invitation to S.E.E.S.
